VITA Since 2002 Ralf Schmid is managing director of Memmingen Airport and responsible for the development and operation. Between 1996 and 2002 he worked at Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport in different technical positions. 2000 he was appointed registered manager and was in charge of operations and technique. Ralf Schmid is 51 years old and was born in Schramberg (Rottweil, Baden-Württemberg). He studied construction engineering / project management between 1992 and 1996 at the university of Biberach/Riß with a final university degree as graduate engineer. Since 2014 he is chairman of a German association for regional airports (Interessengemeinschaft der Regionalen Flugplätze e. V. / IDRF) and Director of ERAC (European Regional Aerodromes Community).
